the State or government of its incorporation would require of
a like Maryland company before such non-resident company
shall be entitled to do business in the State of Maryland, and
all laws or parts of laws inconsistent or in conflict with the
provisions of this Act or any part of this Act, be and they
are hereby repealed, in so far as they or any of them or any
part of them so conflict and no further.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 2.
AN ACT to provide for the Further Publication of the
Archives of Maryland.

WHEREAS, By chapter one hundred and thirty-eight of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the
session of eighteen hundred and eighty-two, the Maryland

archives and ancient documents of the province and State as
therein provided, on condition that said society shall safely
keep, properly arrange and catalogue the same, and shall edit
and publish, under its supervision, such of the same as were of
historical importance; and

structed an expensive vault for the safe keeping of said records
