39. In case said property shall not be redeemed, they shall,
at such times as they shall deem proper, after giving public
notice thereof by advertisement inserted for three successive
weeks in some newspaper published in Baltimore county, offer
the said real estate in single tracts for sale at public auction to
the highest bidders for cash; and if for any of said tracts of
real estate so previously purchased by them and so offered by
them at public sale as aforesaid, there shall be no bid or bids
which the said County Commissioners consider adequate there-
for, they shall withdraw the said tract or tracts, and thereafter,
at any time, without any further notice, may, in their discre-
tion, sell the same at private sale for the highest amount they
can obtain therefor; and in the event of a sale by them either
at public or private sale of any such real estate, the purchase
money for such real estate so sold shall be paid to the treasurer
of Baltimore county and the collector of State and county
taxes for said county, and upon the full payment of the pur-
chase money therefor to the said treasurer of Baltimore county
and collector of State and county taxes for said county, and
not before, the County Commissioners of Baltimore county
shall execute to said purchaser or purchasers a good and suffi-
cient deed therefor; and the money arising from such sales
shall be accounted for by the said treasurer and collector as
other public monies are now or may hereafter be accounted for
according to law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 415.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Baltimore county, at the end of each fiscal year, to appro-
priate and apply to any other public use or purpose than
that for which it was levied any unexpended balance or un-
appropriated surplus of any money or county taxes remain-
ing in the treasury of Baltimore cotfnty or due the same, and
which may have been credited to any other fund or levied
for any other purpose, and to repeal all Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent herewith to the extent of such inconsis-
tency.

SECTIPN 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore county be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered, at the end of
each fiscal year, to appropriate and apply to any other public
