THE FIREMEN'S INSURANCE COMPANY conti-
nue to insure Dwelling Houses, Warehouses, Merchandise,
Household Furniture, Ships in Port, their Cargoes, and
other descriptions of Property generally, against loss or
damage by Fire— but are not permitted by the charter
;o insure out of the new limits of the city.

From the peculiar construction and material of this Asso-
ciation, founded as it is known to be, on the best interests,
and supported by the surest guarantees; backed by an am-

ple capital, and promising a safe atid cheap protection—it
as received au extensive patronage.

on the subject, please apply at the Company's Office, Se-
cond-street, opposite the new Exchange.

The Company have recently put their Works in
complete repair, and are now manufacturing Gun-
Powder of the various sorts, suitable for Blasting,
Canon, or any other purpose, and need only to say
in recommendation of the article, that it has been
almost universally used in the threat works of inter-
nal improvement in this State, and to a very consi-
derable extent in the adjoining States. Samples
may be seen by application at the Office.

Measuring of Buildings, viz: Carpenters, Plaister-
ers, Stonemasons, Bricklayers and Painters Work,
&c. and to plan and estimate coats of Buildings
