RESOLUTIONS.
No. 2.

Assented to
March 24, 1865.

WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Maryland,
have learned with regret, the failure of the ap-
propriation by Congress required for the restora-
tion of the Naval Academy of the United States
to the city of Annapolis, its originial and most
appropriate location, whereby difficulties may
exist in the execution of the law for that restora-
tion to the great detriment of the public service,
and whereas, the pepple of this State are much
interested in the re-establisment of the Naval
School at Annapolis, and we their representatives
are willing to aid the Government of the United
States in anticipating the requisite appropria-
tion by Congress at its next session; therefore,

Be it Resolved by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor of this State, be and
he is hereby authorized to tender to the proper
officer of the United States the sum of fifty thou-
sand dollars for the purpose, aforesaid, and if
the same be accepted, that the Comptroller is
hereby authorized and required to draw his
warrant on the Treasurer for the said sum of
money, payable to the proper officer of the United
States, for the purpose aforesaid, as the Governor
may direct.

Assented to
March 24, 1865.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the State Librarian be and he is authorized
and directed to subscribe in the name of the State,
for two hundred and fifty copies of the Digest of
of the Decisions, construing the Statutes of Mary-
land, of which the Code of Public Generral Laws
is composed, with specifications of the acts of As-
sembly, by Charles F. Mayer and Lewis Mayer;
provided, the price thereof shall not exceed five
dollars per copy, and the Librarian is further di-
