discharge of their duty when properly summoned
to do so, may tax any particular part or district of
the city for paving the streets, lanes and alleys
therein, which may appear for the particular bene-
fit of such part or district, and may make a new
assessment of all real and personal property there-
in as often as it may be deemed necessary.

Preamble.
|
Sub-sec. 1. And whereas, certain ordinances
having been heretofore passed by the Alderman
and Common Council of Frederick, for the preser-
vation of the peace, order and quiet of said town,
certain fines were imposed and punishments in-
flicted in the execution of said ordinances, and the
grades of certain streets altered and changed; and
whereas, doubts have arisen as to the power of said
Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council under said
article eleven to pass said ordinances:

Be it further enacted, That all acts done in pur-
suance of said ordinances, and all fines imposed
and collected, and alterations or changes made in
the streets, lanes or alleys of Frederick, are here-
by confirmed and made valid, and that this act

CHAPTER 2.

AN ACT to provide for the transcribing of one of
the Record Books in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Howard county.
|
Required to
procure book.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Clerk of the Circuit court
for Howard county be and he is hereby required to
procure a new book, well bound for that purpose,
and transcribe therein, in a fair, plain and legible
hand, all the judgments and other matters in judg-
ment docket Liber E. P. H. No. 2, one of the re-
cords in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit court
aforesaid, with the proper and suitable indexes to
the same, and the said new book, when furnished
and completed, shall and is hereby declared to be
