62 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 14 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, in the session of 1912, title, "An Act to Regulate
the Salaries of School Teachers in Prince George's County,
Maryland, and to provide for the levying, by the County Com-
missioners of said County, of the funds necessary to provide
for the payment of the salaries of such teachers," be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so
as to read as follows:

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That on and after the first day of September, 1914, all
white teachers, regularly employed in the public schools of
Prince George's County, holding a first-class teacher's certifi-
cate, and having taught for a period of two years in any of
the public schools of the State of Maryland, shall receive, as
salary, not less than Fdur Hundred Dollars ($400) per annum;
and all such teachers, holding a first-class teacher's certificate,
and having taught in any of the public schools of the State of
Maryland for a period of three years, shall receive a salary of
not less than Four Hundred and Twenty-Five Dollars ($425)
per annum; and all such teachers, holding a first-class teacher's
certificate and having taught in any of the public schools of
the State of Maryland for a period of four yeats, shall receive
a salary of not less than Four Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($450)
per annum; and all such teachers, holding a first-class teacher's
certificate and having taught in any of the public schools of the
State of Maryland for a period of five years and acting as
principals of one-room schools, shall receive a salary of not less
than Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per annum; and all such
teachrs, holding a first-class teachers certificate and having
taught in any of the public schools in the State of Maryland
for a period of five years, and acting as assistants, shall receive
a salary of Four Hundred and Seventy-Five Dollars ($475)
per annum; and all teachers, holding a first-class teacher's cer-
tificate and having taught in any of the public schools of the
State of Maryland for a period of eight years and acting either
as principal of one-room schools or as assistants, shall receive
as Salary not less than Six Hundred Dollars ($600) per annum;
and all such teachers, employed as principals in the public
schools of Prince George's County and having, at least, two
assistants, shall receive an additional salary of not less than
Fifty Dollars per annum above the regular salary which said
teachers would receive under the provisions of this Act; pro-
vided, however, that in no case shall a teacher, with an average
