new sections to said Article to come in after Section 19
as re-enacted and to be known as Section 19-A and
19-B, said Sections relating to Prostitution, Lewdness
and Assignation and declaring the same to be unlawful
and providing penalties for the commission of said of-
fenses and repealing all laws inconsistent therewith.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 19 of Article 27 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland of 1914 (Bagby's Annotated Code,
Volume 3), be and the same is hereby repealed and re-en-
acted with amendments and that two new sections be and the
same are hereby added to said Article to immediately follow
Section 19 as re-enacted and to be known as Sections 19 A
and 19 B, respectively; said Sections to read as follows:

SECTION 19. It shall be unlawful:

(a) To keep, set up, maintain or operate any place, struc-
ture, building or conveyance for the purpose of prostitution,
lewdness or assignation;

(b) To occupy any place, structure, building or convey-
ance for the purpose of prostitution, lewdness or assignation,
or for any person to permit any place, structure, building
or conveyance owned by him or under his control to be used
for the purpose of prostitution, lewdness or assignation with
knowledge or reasonable cause to know that the same is, or
is to be, used for such purpose;

(c) To receive, or to offer or agree to receive any person
into any place, structure, building or conveyance for the
purpose of prostitution, lewdness or assignation, or to know-
ingly permit any person to remain there for such purpose;

(d) To direct, take or transport, or to offer or agree to
take or transport, any person to any place, structure or build-
ing or to any other person with knowledge or reasonable
cause to know that the purpose of such directing, taking or
transporting is prostitution, lewdness or assignation;

(e) To procure or to solicit or to offer to procure or solicit
for the purpose of prostitution, lewdness or assignation;

(f) To reside in, enter in any place, structure or building,
or to remain, in any conveyance, for the purpose of prostitu-
tion, lewdness or assignation;
