to be known as Sections 122A, 122B, 122C, 122D, 122E,
122F, 122G, 122H, 122I and 122J, respectively.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That ten new sections be, and the same are hereby added
to Article 14, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Howard County," sub-title "Schools," to follow im-
mediately after Section 12, and to be known as Sections 122A,
122B, 122C, 122D, 122E, 122F, 122G, 122H, 122I and 122J,
respectively, and to read as follows:

SECTION 122A. No white teacher regularly employed in
the public schools of Howard County, holding a third grade
certificate, shall receive a salary of less than six hundred dol-
lars per school year. Provided, if such teacher holds a third
grade certificate of the first class, and has taught in the public
schools of the State of Maryland for a period of one year,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than six hundred
and twenty-five dollars per school year. Provided, further,
that if such teacher holds a third grade certificate of the first
class, and has taught in the public schools of the State of
Maryland for a period of two years, such teacher shall re-,
ceive a salary of not less than six hundred and seventy-five
dollars per school year. Provided, further, that if such
teacher holds a third grade certificate of the first class, and
has taught in the public schools of the State of Maryland for
a period of three years, such teacher shall receive a salary of
not less than seven hundred and twenty-five dollars per school
year. Provided, further, that if such teacher holds a third
grade certificate of the first class, and has taught in the public
schools of the State of Maryland for a period of four years,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than seven hun-
dred and seventy-five dollars per school year. And provided,
further, that if such teacher holds a third grade certificate of
the first class, and has taught in the public schools of the
State of Maryland for a period of five years, such teacher
shall receive a salary of not less than eight hundred dollars
per school year.

SECTION 122B. No white teacher regularly employed in
the public schools of Howard County, holding a second grade
certificate, shall receive a salary of less than seven hundred
dollars per school year. Provided, if such teacher holds a
second grade certificate of the first class, and has taught in
the public schools of the State of Maryland for a period of
