                March Court                 1762            120
Frances Welson of of Somerset County Came hereinto Court in her Proper Person and prays that her Negro
Man Cofey and Negro Woman Jenney who are Antient and Infirm may be for the future tax free
Thereupon it is Considered by the Court that the afd. Francis Wilson be for the future discharged
from Paying taxes for the afd. Negroes &c

Southy Whittington of Somerset County Came here into Court in his Proper Person and prays that his
Negro Man named Cesar who is Antient and Infirm may be for the future tax free Thereupon it is
Considered by the Court here that the afd. Southy Whittington be for the future discharged from
paying taxes for the afd. Negro Cesar &c.

Wm. Coulbourn    To the Wordshipfull Justices of Somerset County in Court now Sitting the Humble Petition
      Petn.    of William Coulbourn Most Plainly Sheweth that Whereas your Petitioner is Possest
With a Negro Wench Named Hannah which with the Inflictions of the Almighty hath Rendred her
Incapable of being of any Service to Your Petitioner for which Reson your Petitioner humbly prays
that Your Worships would be pleased to Consider the Premisses as She will be a tideable this year
for to order her not to be Taken in as a Taxable and for So doing Your Petitioner as in duty bound Shall
Ever pray &c       Whereupon Came hereinto Court the afd. Petitioner in his proper person and thereupon
the Petition afd. being Read and heard and fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the
afd. Wm. Coulbourn be for the future discharged from paying taxes for the afd. Negro &c

Sarah Fortune    Sarah Fortune a Molatto of her Own free Consent is bound out by the Court here
    Bound to    An Apprentice According to Act of Assembly in Such Case provided unto Francis Lank of
Francis Lank                                                                                                             Sixteen

   Somerset County untill She the Said Sarah Should Arrive at the Age of ^ Twenty One ^ Years
the Said Sarah Fortune to Serve her Said Master the full term afd. during which Term the Said
Apprentice her Said Master well and faithfully she Shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandments
Lawfully and honestly Every where willingly she Shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull
Apprentice she Shall Demean herself towards her Said Master and all his during the term afd.
      In Consideration of Which Service the Said Francis Lank present here in Court in his proper person
Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in Manner and form
following that is to Say that he the Said Francis Lank Shall and will during the term afd. Learn his
Said Apprentice the trade of a Weaver and to Sew and Spin and at the Expiration of her Servitude give
      new
her a ^ Jacket and Petty Coat of Country Make over and above her Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise
find and Provide for his Said Apprentice meat drink Washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient
for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during the term afd.
      Whereupon the Said Francis Lank is ordered to Give Security to Comply with the Covenants afd.
Thereupon the Said Francis Lank together with Joshua Hitch and Richard Mills of Somerset
County his Securitys all present here in Court in their Proper Persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted
unto the Said Sarah Fortune in thirty Pounds Curt Money of Maryland on their bodys Goods or Chattles
Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to the use of the Said Sarah Fortune her heirs and
Assigns to be made and Levied if it happen that the Said Francis Lank do not dureing the term
afd. Learn his Said Apprentice the trade of a Weaver and to Sew and Spin and at the Expiration of her
Servitude do not Give her a New Jacket and Petty Coat of Country Make Over and Above her Common
Wearing Cloaths and and do not Likewise find and Provide for his Said Apprentice Meat drink
Washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during the
term afd. &c
