Susannah Scheebo
 A writt having issued against the said Susannah
At his Lordships Suit to Answer unto an Indictm.t
found against her for fornication The Sherrf of Kent County to whom the said
Writt was directed makes return thereof to this Court here on the third Tuesday
of March being the twenty first day of said Month Anno Dom seventeen
hundred twenty & six the day of return of said writt Endorst as foll viz.t

    Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right honourable the Lord propry that
now is for Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that Susannah
Skeebo late of Saint pauls parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth day of
June Anno Dom seventeen hundred twenty & Six at Saint pauls parish afd
in Kent County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did committ fornicon
with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permitt the
same unknown person then and there to have Carnal knowledge of
her body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on the body of her
the same Susannah to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example
of all others in such Case offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord
propry that now is his good rule and Governm.t And against the form of
the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided
Test                                                                            T francis Cler. pac.

    On the back of the preceeding Indictm.t was this Endorsm.t viz.t

    A true bill by William Crowe foreman

    And the afd Susannah Skeebo in her proper person comes and saith
that she cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her brought
nor but that she is guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the
afd Indictment it is alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house
in the Town of Chester in said County this twenty first Day of March Anno
Dom seventeen hundred twenty & six that the afd Susannah Skeebo
receive at the publick whipping post twenty one Lashes well laid on her
bare back 'till the blood appears as a punishment for her afd Crime of
Committing fornication ^in form afd Confest^ as also that she pay the sum of two hundred eighty
six pounds of Tobacco Costs accruing on the premisses afd to the Officers
