called John, hath the misfortune to be an idiot, and is now about twenty-six years old, incapaable of
doing any kind of labour, and requires one person constantly to attend him, and praying the
lew court of the said county may be authorised to assess and levy annually a sum of money for his

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of St. Mary's county
are hereby authorised and required to levy, annually, on the assessable property of the said county,
(so long as they may see cause,) a sum of money, not exceeding thirty dollars for any one year_f
which sum shall be collected as other county charges are, and paid to the said Mary Anne Tuel, or
such other person as the said court may appoint, for the use, support and maintenance, of the said
John Tuel.

CHAP. VI.

An ACT authorising Jacob Schnebly, late sheriff and collector of
Washington county, to complete his collction.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of Jacob Schnebly, late
sheriff and collector of Washington county, that from various causes therein set forth he has
not been able to complete his collection within the time limitted, and that there is still due to him,
as sheriff and collector of said county, considerable sums of money, and praying that a law may pass
to enable him to collect the same; therefore,

may collect,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryhnl, That the said Jacob Schnebly be and he
is hereby authorised to collect, until the first day of December, eighteen hundred and five, all ba-
lances due him, as sheriff and collector of Washington county, for the year eighteen hundred and
three, in the same manner as he could or might have dome within the time limitted by law, any law
to the contrary notwithstanding.

To deliver an
account, &c.

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty oF the said Jacob Schnebly, before he pro-
ceeds to execute or distrain the property of any person or persons for taxes, officers fees or public
dues, in virtue of this act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the same, at least
thirty days previous to levying such execution or distress, an account, written in words at full length,
of the taxes, officers fees or public dues, demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed,
if required, that he hath not received any part thereof, nor any thing as security or satisfaction for
the same, more than credit given, to the best of his knowledge.

lodged, &c.

IV. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Jacob Schnebly, before he derives any benefit from or
under this act, shall lodge a copy of his collection books in the clerk's office of Washington county,
to be opened for the inspection of all persons interested in the same.

CHAP. VII.

Passed Janua-
ry 5, 1805,

An ACT to authorise and empower the levy court of Calvert county
to assess and levy a sum of money for the purpose therein men-
tioned.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of Calvert county
be and they are hereby authorised and empowered, at their discretion, to assess and levy, in
two years, a sum of money, not exceeding eight hundred dollars, for the purpose of building a
new gaol at Prince-Frederick-town, in said county, to be levied and collected as other county
charges.

And contract,

II. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court of Calvert county have full power and authority
to contract for the building and completing said gaol.
