the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on
the third tuesday in June being the fifteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred and thirty one That the afd Thomas Baker pay the Sum
of two hundred and fifty pounds of Tobacco to the use of his Lord Ship his heirs
&c.a As a fine for Committing the offence afd and also pay the Sum of
three hundred Sixty Six pounds of Tobacco next ensuing on the premisses afd to
the officers of this Court &c.a

    Ordered by the Court here That M.r Joseph Young Sherf of Kent County keep
the afd Thomas Baker in Safe Custody untill the fine and fees afd he Shall
Satisfie

the Lord Proprietary that now is for Kent County afd upon
their Oath do present that Margaret Previn Late of S.t
Pauls Parish in the County afd the Servant of William Crow the tenth day of
November Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & Thirty at the parish afd in the
County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain
person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permitt the Same unknown Person then and
there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget a bastard Child on the body
of her the Same Margaret to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the
Evil Example of all others in Such case offending Contrary to the Peace of the
Said Lord proprietary that now is his good and rule Government and against
the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case maid and provided

    And the afd Margaret Previn in his proper person comes and Saith that she
Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as afd against her brought nor but that
She is guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd
Indictment it is alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court  Therefore
it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the
Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in June being the
fifteenth day of Said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and
thirty one  That the afd Margaret Previn have on bare back thirty twenty
one Lashes well laid on tell the blood app.r as a punishment for the Crime
afd and also pay the Sum of Two hundred Sixty one pounds of Tobacco
costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court &c.a
It is also Considered by the Court here at this day to wit the day and year last
mentioned that the Sherrife of Kent County take the afd Margaret Previn into
his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified and
