On the afd Indictment was Indorsed as foll. viz.t True bill by me Rob.t Dunn
foreman and now here at this Court Came the afd The Lord prop.ry by Tench
Francis his attry and the Same attry prays that he afd Mary Jones to the
afd Indictment may Answer and the afd Mary in her proper person Comes
and saith that She is in no Sort guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed
as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and thereof She puteth her self upon
the Coventry Country                        Mary Jones in p.ra p.rsona And he
And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith She
is guilty                                                                T francis p ld p.ry

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherrif of Kent County that
he immediately Cause to Come here twelve &c.a by whom &c.a who neither
&c.a To Recognize &c.a because as well &c.a of which said precept the said
Sherrif to wit John Gresham Gentl. now here at this Day to wit the
nineteenth day of March Anno Dom. one thousand Seven Hundred
and thirty four makes Return that he hath here Ready twelve &c.a as by
his precept he was Commanded and now here afterwards to wit the Day and
year last mentioned Came againe the afd Lord prop.ry by his attorney
afd and the afd Mary Jones in her proper person and Jerors of that Jury
being Impannelled and Called Likewise Came to wit Thomas Smith
Richard Gresham Morgan Hurtt John Carvill Bulman Medford Alexander
Brisco William Woodland John Rogers Henry Spencer John Cooper
Thomas Wiatt and and Arther Miller who being duely Elected tryed and
Sworn to Say the truth in premisses The Same Mary Jones in her proper
person appear and the same Jurors upon there oath Do say Mary Jones
is not guilty so She Stands Indicted and ^by^ Thomas Smith there foreman all So
Say Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent County at
the Court House in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday
in March being the Nin^e^teenth day of said month Anno Dom. one Thousand
Seven hundred and thirty three That the afd Mary Jones as to the Indictment
afd she go thereof without Day and it is also Considered by the Justices afd
That the same Mary Jones pay the Sum of ___________ hundred and _______
pounds of Tobacco Cost accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court
And now here at this day the same Day last mentioned Came the afd Lord propry
by his attorney afd and prays that the same Mary Jones may give Security to pay
the fees afd to the officers of this Court and thereupon the Court orders that John
Gresham Gentl. Sherrif of Kent County keep the afd Mary in safe Custody untill the
fees afd Shall be Satisfied
