SPECIAL SESSION

ANNAPOLIS, MD., December 17, 1949.

STATE OF MARYLAND, To WIT :

This being the day appointed by the Governor for a Special
Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, at 11:00 A. M. Mr.
F. Byrne Austin, Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates during the
regular session of January, 1949, called the House to order and,
after the offering of prayer by Hon. Carl Hoffman of Somerset
County, the Reading Clerk called the roll and the following mem-
bers answered to their names:

NOMINATIONS FOR SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE

On motion of Mr. John Luber, of Baltimore City, duly seconded
by Mr. McLeish, of Prince George's County, Mr. Perry O. Wilkinson,
of Prince George's County, was placed in nomination for Speaker
pro tem.

There being no further nominations for the office of Speaker pro
tem, Mr. Perry O. Wilkinson, of Prince George's County, was elected
Speaker pro tem by yeas and nays as follows:
