WHEREAS, the Workshop is in need of further funds to ade-
quately handle this important work of the Home Services
Department; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Board of Public Works be and it is hereby authorized to use
funds contained in the Emergency Fund provided in the Bud-
get, to assist the Home Services Department of the Maryland
Workshop for the Blind; and be it further

Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the House of Delegates be
and he is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to
the Board of Public Works.

A Joint Resolution relating to funds for drilling and other
work to locate mineral resources.

WHEREAS, studies indicate that there probably exist in parts
of Western Maryland mineral resources as yet undiscovered;
and

WHEREAS, the locating and mining of such deposits would be
advantageous to the economic welfare of the entire State; and

WHEREAS, it appears likely that the United States Depart-
ment of Mines will allot money to match any funds which the
State may make available for the purpose of drilling and other
work to locate mineral resources; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Board of Public Works be and it is hereby requested to make
funds available to match any funds allotted by the United
States Government, or any of its agencies or departments for
the purpose of drilling or other work to discover and locate
mineral resources in the State of Maryland; and be it further
