RESOLUTIONS.

1842

State, and in the Treasurer of the Western Shore by the
fourth section of the act passed at December session eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter thirty-three, be sus-
pended until the twentieth day of February next.

 

No. 13.

Resolution directing the Governor to employ counsel in a
case therein mentioned.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Governor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
engage John Nelson, Esq. of Baltimore city, to aid J. Ne-
vitt Steele, Esq. in argument of the causes pending in the
Supreme Court of the United States, or writs of error to
the Court of Appeals of this State, from the said Supreme
Court, by Samuel T. Gordon of Virginia, and James Ches-
ton, of Baltimore city, suggesting error in the judgment of
the Court of Appeals of Maryland, on their appeal from
the official tax court of Baltimore city.
Resolved, That the Governor shall pay to each of them,
J. Nevitt Steele and John Nelson, Esqrs. the sum of four
hundred and fifty dollars, out of any money in the treasury
not otherwise appropriated.

No. 14.

Resolution in favor of the Judges of the Orphan's Courts
of this State.,

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Judges of the Orphan's Courts of the State, when in
the city of Annapolis, shall have the use of the State Li-
brary.

No. 15.

Resolution directing the Librarian to furnish the Register
of Wills of Washington county with the Index to the
Laws from eighteen hundred and twenty-five to eighteen
hundred and thirty-one.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian be and he is hereby authorized and directed,
