2096 JOINT RESOLUTIONS

WHEREAS, there is a Naval Experimental Laboratory in
Calvert County which would be much benefited by the im-
provement and maintenance as an improved road of that part
of the road known as Blake Road which now is unimproved;
and

WHEREAS, the improvement of this three mile part of Blake
Road then would connect with the improved section of that
road which now runs toward Sunderland in Calvert County
where it connects with State Route No. 2; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
State Roads Commission be and it is hereby requested to take
over, improve and maintain the present unimproved portion
of Blake Road between the Naval Experimental Laboratory
and Sunderland in Calvert County, not later than August 15,
1951; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby
directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the Chairman of
the State Roads Commission.

House Joint Resolution directing the Governor and the Board
of Public Works to reduce the budget for the next fiscal
year by at least $1, 000, 000. 00 under the provisions and within
the limitations of Section 9 of Article 15A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland.

WHEREAS, the Senate and the House of Delegates of Mary-
land, from a study of the budget submitted, are convinced that
the expenditures provided for in the budget for the next fiscal
year may be reduced by at least $1, 000, 000. 00 without any
sacrifice in the efficient operation of the State government; now
therefore be it
