down FRIDAY MIDNIGHT until one hour bofore sunup
ON MONDAY in the tidal waters of this State, EXCEPT
THAT THIS RESTRICTION SHALL NOT APPLY IN
THE WATERS OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY NORTH
OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY BRIDGE OR IN THE
TRIBUTARIES OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY IF ANY
SUCH WATERS ARE DESIGNATED AS RESTRICTED
AREAS BY THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.
Any person found guilty of fishing or taking fish with a haul
seine during the period prohibited under this sub-section
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction there-
of shall be fined not less than $500.00 $100.00 nor more than
$2,500.00 $500.00 and shall stand committed in the Balti-
more City jail or to the County jail until such fines and
costs are paid; and all boats, nets, seines or other equip-
ment used for the purpose of violating the provisions of
this sub-section shall be declared forfeited, and said fine
and forfeiture shall be disposed of as provided under the
provisions of this Article, PROVIDED, HOWEVER,
THAT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT SHALL NOT
APPLY IN WORCESTER COUNTY.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1,1953.

This bill was passed at the 1953 session of the General
Assembly and was vetoed by the Governor on May 5, 1953.
Under the provisions of Section 17 of Article 2 of the State
Constitution bills vetoed after adjournment of the Legis-
lature must be returned by the Governor to the next regu-
lar or special session of the General Assembly. The bill was
repassed over the Governor's veto by the House of Delegates
on February 5,1954, and by the Senate on February 9, 1954.
Under the constitutional provisions it becomes effective on
June 1, 1954.
