THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 1927
1951, Ch. 588—Wicomico County
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Code of Maryland (1947 Edition)
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Election on Referen-
dum held at the same time as the Primary Election of the
State of Maryland, May 5, 1952, an Act known as Chapter
588 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1951 was submitted to the voters of Wicomico County, for
their adoption or rejection, under the provisions of Chapter
588 of the Acts of 1951, said Act being:
"An Act to add two new Sub-sections to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement),
providing, subject to referendum, for the issue of
Class B and Class C beer, wine and liquor licenses in
Wicomico County, for hotels having 30 or more rooms
and regularly serving meals, restaurants owned and
operated by resident voters, clubs incorporated for
two years or more and non-profit fraternal organiza-
tions, all under the control of the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County, with purchases to be
made from the Wicomico County Liquor Dispensary".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 2174 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 588 of the Acts of
1951 and 4224 votes were cast against the adoption of the
said Act; and a majority being cast against the adoption of
Chapter 588 of the Acts of 1951, it has therefore failed of
ratification.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
scribed my name and affixed hereto my
(Secretary of Official Seal, at the City of Annapolis, this
State's Seal) 26th day of May, 1952.
JOHN R. REEVES,
Secretary of State.
