(1930 Edition) titles "Queen Anne's County" and
"Talbot County", said new sections to be known as Sec-
tions 322A to 322S in Article 18 and to be known as
Sections 400B to 400T in Article 21, and to follow,
respectively, immediately after Sections 322 and 400A
of said Articles, incorporating the town of Queen Anne
in Queen Anne's and Talbot Counties and relating gen-
erally to the government of said town and to the powers
and duties of the officers and citizens thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That nineteen new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 18 and to Article 21 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), titles "Queen Anne's
County", and "Talbot County", said new sections to be
known as Sections 322A to 322S in Article 18 and to be
known as Sections 400B to 400T in Article 21, to follow,
respectively, immediately after Sections 322 and 400A of
said Articles, and to read as follows:

322A. (400B). The Town of Queen Anne, in Queen
Anne's and Talbot Counties, is hereby incorporated, and
the inhabitants thereof are hereby a body politic by the
name and style of "The Commissioners of Queen Anne",
and as such may sue and be sued, and may have and use
a common seal and may alter the same at pleasure.

322B. (400C). All persons who hold taxable property
in the Town of Queen Anne and pay taxes thereon, and
who have resided within the corporate limits of said Town
for six months prior to January first preceding an election
of town commissioners, and any non-resident individuals
who hold taxable property in said Town and pay town
taxes thereon, shall elect by ballot cast in person on the
fourth Monday in the month of April in each and every
year, during the hours of four to seven p. m., at a place
to be specified by the Commissioners, any person who shall
be at least 25 years of age, who shall pay taxes on property
subject to municipal taxation of assessed value of at least
Five Hundred Dollars ($500), and who shall have resided
within the corporate limits of said town for at least two
years, as Commissioner for said town for a period of three
years, or until his successor is elected and qualified. Pro-
vided, however, there shall be three Commissioners elected
in such manner, and that in the election to be held in 1954,
the Commissioner receiving the highest number of votes
shall hold office for a period of three years, and the one
receiving the next highest number of votes shall hold office
for a period of two years, and the one receiving the next
