Resolved, That the County Commissioners of Cecil County be and
they are hereby requested to appropriate and make available to said
Committee such sums as the County Commissioners may feel neces-
sary for carrying out the provisions of this Resolution.

(House Joint Resolution 32)

House Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to appoint a Com-
mission to study the question of making available certain bonuses
or remunerating in some other manner those citizens of the State
of Maryland who have honorably served in the Armed forces of
the United States of America during World Wars One and Two
and the Korean Conflict.

WHEREAS, There has been indicated for some time a general belief
among thousands of Maryland citizens that there is a need and neces-
sity to grant to such honorably discharged veterans certain re-
muneration or other forms of bonus; and

WHEREAS, It is the belief of many well-informed and patriotic
citizens of the State of Maryland that there should be an expression
by the electorate of the State of Maryland on this question; and

WHEREAS, In the course of every attempt or effort that has here-
tofore been made in the furtherance of such proposals, there has
arisen such confusions and misunderstandings as to nullify a proper
and complete solution of this question to the satisfaction of all
citizens of the State of Maryland; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor
be requested to appoint a commission to study the question of making
available certain bonuses or remunerating in some other manner
those citizens of the State of Maryland who have honorably served
in the Armed forces of the United States of America during World
Wars One and Two and the Korean Conflict; and be it further

Resolved, That on this commission there shall be appointed by the
Governor in addition to those others whom he should so desire to ap-
point at least one official representative of the American Legion,
Veterans of foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Catholic
War Veterans of the United States of America, and Jewish War
Veterans of the United States of America. All such of these latter
must be members of the Department of Maryland of their respected
organizations; and be it further

Resolved, That this Commission shall be composed of no less than
nine and no more than fifteen members; and be it further
