Note

There were 11 bills vetoed by the Governor following the 1956
Session of the General Assembly. Announcement of the veto of
Senate Bill 38 was made on March 19. An announcement of the veto
of the other ten bills was made on April 4. Under Section 17 of
Article 2 of the Constitution of Maryland, each of these eleven bills
must be referred to the House in which each originated immediately
after that House shall have organized at the next Regular or Special
Session of the General Assembly and may then be reconsidered as
bills vetoed during the session. Of the eleven bills vetoed, four origi-
nated in the Senate of Maryland and seven originated in the House of
Delegates.
