CHAPTER 124.

An act authorising Alexander Johnson late sheriff and
collector of Charles county, to complete his collection.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the said Alexander Johnson, be and
he is hereby authorised to collect until the first day of
January, eighteen hundred and sixteen, all balances due
him as sheriff and collector of Charles comity, in the same
manner as he could or might have done within the time li-
mited by law, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the

duty of the said Alexander Johnson, before he proceeds
to execute or distrain the property of any person or per-
sons for taxes, officer's fees or public dues, in virtue of
this act, to deliver to, or leave at the last place of abode
of such person or persons, his, her or their executors or
administrators, chargeable with the same, at least thirty
days previous to the levying such execution or distress,
an account written in words at full length, of the taxes,
officer's fees or public dues, demanded of him, her or
them, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he hath not
received any part thereof, nor any thing as security or sa-
tisfaction for the same, more than, credit given, to the
best of his knowledge.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Alexan-
der Johnson, before he derives any benefit from or under
this act, shall lodge his collection books in the clerk's of-
fice of Charles county, to be opened lor the inspection of
all persons interested in the same, and give public notice
thereof by advertisement, to be set up at the court house
door, and other public places in said county.

CHAPTER 125.

An act to continue in force the acts of Assembly which
would expire, with the present session.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the. General Assembly
of Maryland, That all such acts and parts of such acts
of Assembly as would expire with the present session of
Assembly be and the same are hereby continued until the
twentieth day of November next, and to the end of the
next session of Assembly which shall happen thereafter.

An act to make valid a power of attorney from Toussaint
F. V. Caharel to David and William Winchester,
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the power of Attorney contained in
the deed of conveyance from Toussaint F. V. Caharel of
the kingdom of France, to Solomon Etting of Baltimore
