RESOLUTIONS.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to each member of
the Legislature from the Eastern Shore attending in discharge of his Legis-
lative duties, the following itinerant charges in addition to those allowed on
the journal of accounts, to wit: to the members from Cecil, now at-
tending three days itinerant charges: to the members from Kent,
six days itinerant charges: to the members from Queen Ann's, se-
ven days itinerant charges: to the members from Caroline, eight days,
itinerant charges: to the members from Talbot, eight days itinerant char-
ges: to the members from Dorchester, nine days itinerant charges :
to the members from Somerset, eleven days itinerant charges; to the
members from Worcester, eleven days itinerant charges, and to each
officer of both homes from the Eastern Shore, the same number of
days itinerant charges that are allowed to the members of the county in
which they respectively reside.

No. 23.

Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they hereby are au-
thorised to cause to be repaired the magazine or store house in Freder-
ick county, and to draw their order upon the treasurer of the Western
Shore for the amount of the expenses thereof, or to sell the same together
with the lot of ground on which it stands, and cause the nett proceeds
thereof to be paid in to the treasury of the Western Shore.

No. 24.
Resolved, That Tench Tilghman, John Bennett, Samuel Stevens, Wm.
Dickinson, Henry Holliday of Talbot county, John Young, Robert Or-
rel, George Smith, Solomon Brown, and Elisha Dawson of Caroline
county, and John Stewart, of Jno. and Washington Eccleston, of Dor-
chester county, are appointed commissioners, and they or a majority of
them are hereby authorised and required to proceed to the examination of
the bridge erected in virtue of the act entitled, "an act to incorporation
company for erecting a bridge over Great Choptank river, at or near Dover
ferry," with a view to ascertain whether the powers vested in said company
have been abused by neglecting to provide such facilities for the safe and
speedy navigation of the river aforesaid, as was contemplated by the said act
of assembly. — And should the said commissioners, or a majority of them,
be of opinion that such facilities have not been provided as the said act
contemplated, in such case the persons so as aforesaid appointed com-
missioners, or a majority of them, shall make out two certificates by them
signed and scaled, stating their opinion of the inconvenience (if any) re-
sulting to navigators, and the cause or causes of such inconvenience and
the remedy to obviate the same, and return one to the president of the
aforesaid bridge company, and one to the next general assembly of Mary-
land, in order that such measures may be adopted in relation thereto at
may be deemed requisite to insure the individual rights of the citizens.

Resolved, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby au-
thorised and empowered to cause to be paid to John N. Watkins, such
sum of money as they shall be of opinion the said John N. Watkins may
be entitled to, for his services in making an index to the acts and resolu-
tions of the general assembly, passed since the year seventeen hundred and
ninety-nine, and that the treasurer of the Western Shore pay the same
to the order of the governor and council out of any unappropriated money
in the treasury.

No. 26.

Resolved, That the loan heretofore made by the state of the trustees of
St. Peter's free-school in the city of Baltimore, be, and the same is hereby
continued for two years from the time the same became due.

No. 27.

Resolved, That the treasurer to the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
authorised and directed to release Josias Stevenson and John Murray,
the securities of Thomas Bayly, late sheriff and collector of Baltimore
county, from the payment of interest on the sums due from said Bayly to
this state, at the time his sheriffalty ceased; provided they shall fully
pay the principal of the debts so due within sixty days after the passing of
this resolution.
