Salary fixed.

CHAPTER 7.

An act to settle and ascertain the Salary of the Members
of the Council for the ensuing year.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That each member of the council shall be entitled to receive, for
the ensuing year, the sum of five hundred and thirty-three dol-
lars and thirty-three and one third cents, current money, for his
salary.

CHAPTER 8.

An act for the relief of James Deane, of Saint Mary's
County.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Saint Mary's county, shall be, and they
are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court annually,
so long as they shall see cause, to assess and levy on the asses-
sable property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said James
Deane. and that the same be collected annually by the collector
of Saint Mary's county, and paid to the said James Deane, or
his order.

CHAPTER 9.

An act to confirm and make valid a Deed to James Ryan,

of Montgomery County.
Whereas it has been represented to this general assembly,
by the petition of James Ryan, of Montgomery county, that he
the said James Ryan, a native of Ireland, who emigrated to the
United States more than thirty years ago, and resided in this
country ever since, and has since his emigration acquired certain
real property in this state, by purchase from Agnus Willson, and
that the said James Ryan had not been naturalized before the
purchase of said property agreeably to the laws of the United
States, but that the said James Ryan has since been naturalized:
And whereas, the title to the said property may he called in ques-
tion, to his great injury, from his not having been naturalized
agreeable to the laws of the United States, before acquiring
the said property; Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a deed of conveyance from Agnus Willson, of Prince
George's county, in the state of Maryland, to James Ryan, of
Montgomery county, for a tract of land called "Barnitt's De-
sire," lying and being in Montgomery county aforesaid, dated
the fourth day of September, eighteen hundred and eleven, ac-
knowledged before Jesse Leach and John Fleming, two justices
of the peace for Montgomery county, and duly enrolled amongst
the land records of Montgomery county, shall have the same
force, operation and effect, to all intents and purposes whatsoever,
as if the said James Ryan had been naturalized agreeable to the
laws of the United States, before he acquired such real property ;
Provided always, That nothing herein contained shall in any
manner defeat or affect any right, title or claim, to the said pro-
