EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND

OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE OF MARYLAND
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, THOMAS B. FINAN, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) DO
HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Election held in the Tenth Election
District of Prince George's County on October 27, 1959, an Act known
as Chapter 449 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1959, was submitted to the voters of the Tenth Election District of
Prince George's County, for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Chapter 449 of the Acts of 1959, said Act being as
follows:

"An act to add new Section 656B to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Fire Companies", to follow imme-
diately after Section 656A thereof, said section having been
added by Chapter 788 of 1957 providing for an annual rescue
squad tax within the Tenth Election District (Laurel), outside
of the corporate limits of the Town of Laurel, in Prince George's
County relating to the disposition of said tax, and providing for
a referendum thereon. "

AND I DO CERTIFY, that at said election held in the Tenth Election
District of Prince George's County, 23 votes were cast in favor of the
adoption of Chapter 449 of the Acts of 1959 and 49 votes were cast
against the adoption thereof, and a majority of votes being cast against
the adoption of the said Chapter 449 of the Acts of 1959 the same has
failed of ratification in the 10th Election District of Prince George's
County, Maryland.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis, this 2nd day of November, 1959.
