7.   With respect to Section 5 (G) (1) (h) relating to an appropriation of
$1,000,000 for the acquisition of additional land for the Gunpowder River Valley
Park System, I hereby approve so much of this item which appropriates $600,000
for this purpose and disapprove the remainder of $400,000; and

8.   With respect to Section 5 (G) (r) relating to an appropriation of $300,000
for the acquisition of additional land for Tuckahoe Lake State Park, I hereby
approve so much of this item which appropriates $150,000 for this purpose and
disapprove the remainder of $150,000.

CHAPTER 904
(House Bill 432)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 649 (a) (1)
of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supple-
ment), title "Health", sub-title "Sanitary District", providing for
the reconstitution of the AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF
MEMBERS OF THE EXISTING Allegany County Sanitary Com-
mission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 649(a)(1) of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1962 Supplement), title "Health", sub-title "Sanitary
District", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

649.

(a) (1) If the district is incorporated by one county , EXCEPT
IN ALLEGANY COUNTY, the commission shall be composed of
three citizens of such county, no one of whom shall hold any other
office of said county during his term of office on said commission.
The governing body of such county shall appoint the members of the
commission, whose terms of office shall commence on the date of
appointment, and one of whom shall serve for two years, one for four
years, and one for six years from the January first next succeeding
the date of incorporation, and thereafter the said governing body
shall, at a meeting held not later than one month prior to January
first in each year in which a vacancy occurs, appoint as a member of
the commission a citizen of the county for which the district is
created, for a term of six years, to succeed the member whose term
expires on the January first next succeeding.

The Allegany County Sanitary Commission appointed pursuant to
the preceding paragraph shall be abolished as of June 1, 1963, and
the terms of its members ended. Thereafter, there shall be created
a new Allegany County Sanitary Commission through appointment
by the County Commissioners of Allegany County of seven citizens
of said county, three of whom shall be the Sanitary Commissioners
whose terms were terminated in accordance with the
preceding
sentence. No member of the
Commission shall hold any other office

in the county during his term in office. Two of the members so

appointed shall hold office for six years from June 1, 1963; and other
five members shall hold office for one, two, three, four, and five years,
respectively, from said date. At the expiration of each of said terms
