2178                            JOINT RESOLUTIONS

The following persons were appointed on the Commission in the
State of Maryland:

Bridgewater M. Arnold; John Carey; J. Cavendish Darrell;
George W. Delia; Kenneth H. Ekin; Carl Everstine; John R. Fitz-
patrick; J. Edgar Harvey; M. King Hill, Jr.; Andrew J. Hundert-
mark; Frederick W. Invernizzi; Frank A. Kaufman; W. W. Lanna-
han; Frederick C. Malkus; Adrian L. McCardell; Elkan R. Myers;
C. J. Newner; John R. Norris; Clarence A. Patterson; Edward J.
Price; Mortin Robinson; Theodore E. Schluderberg; Roger W. Simp-
kins; Emory W. Slaughter; Woodrow F. Strong; Allan R. Wetzler;
Perry 0. Wilkinson; Harrison L. Winter; Gerald S. Wise and J.
Francis Ireton.

The members of this Commission gave arduous and devoted service
to a complete study of the Uniform Commercial Code. All of them
had the highest zeal for the public service they were performing, and
the job, when completed, was literally monumental. The task they
performed was one which will long be of benefit to the citizens of
this State, and for it they are due the appreciation and gratitude of
the people of Maryland.

The chairman of the Commission was J. Francis Ireton, Esq. He
spent long hours and inexhaustible energy in planning and attending
to the work of the Commission, and is due a particular word of
thanks.

In addition to expressing the appreciation of the State to the
members of this Commission, the General Assembly recommends
that the Commission be reappointed by the Governor to arrange and
annotate for publication the Uniform Commercial Code and to handle
such educational and informative programs as may be desired. The
General Assembly also recommends that funds be provided to the
Commission for editorial costs arising from the publication and an-
notation of the Code; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the sincere
gratitude and appreciation of the General Assembly and of every
citizen of the State of Maryland be expressed to the members of the
Commission to Study and Report on the Uniform Commercial Code ;
and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be directed to
send copies of this Resolution to all members of the Commission, as
listed above; and be it further

Resolved, That the Governor of Maryland be requested to reappoint
this Commission in order that it may provide and annotate for pub-
lication the Uniform Commercial Code and take part in educational
and informative programs to instruct the residents of the State as
to its provisions; and be it further

Resolved, That the Governor of Maryland be requested, from con-
tingent funds at his disposal, to provide funds necessary for the edi-
torial work required in annotating and publishing the Uniform Com-
mercial Code.
