Senate Bill No. 332. Highway Safety Act

AN ACT to add a new Section 59B to Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1966 Supplement),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments," sub-
title "Governor," to follow immediately after Section 59A thereof, to
provide for recognition and acceptance of benefits under the Federal
Highway Safety Act of 1966, to empower the Governor to perform
duties and exercise responsibilities under said Act and to accept
federal funds thereunder, to provide for acceptance of funds under
said Act by political subdivisions, and to designate duties and
responsibilities of State officers and agencies.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Section 17 of Article II of the Maryland
Constitution, I have vetoed today Senate Bill 332 and am returning
it to you.

The bill, extending authority to the Governor to act on behalf
of the State and its localities in the implementation of the Federal
Highway Safety Act of 1966, is a duplicate of House Bill 498, which
has been signed and is now Chapter 253 of the 1967 Laws of Maryland.

Senate Bill No. 372. Oysters and Clams

AN ACT to add new Section 706 (d) to Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural
Resources", subtitle "Oysters and Clams", to follow immediately after
Section 706 (c) thereof, to authorize the Department of Chesapeake
Bay Affairs to designate buying stations where oysters and clams may
be sold by the catcher and making it unlawful for a catcher to sell or a
buyer to buy oysters and clams from a catcher at any place other than
such designated buying stations.
