committee until the provisions of this section are complied with,
unless the chairman of the committee certifies that prompt committee
action on the bill or joint resolution is necessary to the prompt con-
duct of legislative business.

67.

The fiscal note shall be revised at each successive stage of the legis-
lative process in which an amendment is adopted which changes the
fiscal effect of the bill or joint resolution. The revised fiscal note
shall not be subject to the time limitations prescribed for initial
committee hearing, but shall be processed by the Department of
Fiscal Services and returned as quickly as possible to the committee
or to the Clerk of the House or Secretary of the Senate if one of the
latter has the custody of the bill or joint resolution at that time.

68.

A waiver of a fiscal note shall be replaced at any time with a fiscal
note if an amendment to a bill or joint resolution causes the bill or
joint resolution to have an effect upon the revenues or expenditures
of State government.

69.

The attachment of a fiscal note or waiver of a fiscal note shall not
be a condition or prerequisite for the introduction of a bill or a joint
resolution by any member of the legislature.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, that this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 88
(Senate Bill 66)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 2 (k),
12 (a) (3), and 19 (b) of Article 75½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title
"Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors," amending the regu-
lative laws applying to professional engineers and land surveyors
in order to correct erroneous wording therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 2 (k), 12 (a) (3), and 19 (b) of Article 75½ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967
Supplement), title "Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors," be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

(k) The term "practice of property line surveying" [with] within
the meaning and intent of this article, involves only the reestablish-
ment of land boundaries, the division of said lands, and the plotting
