CHAPTER ............ (HOUSE BILL 630) OF THE 1969 SESSION,

IT IS THE LEGISLATIVE INTENT THAT SECTION 660 AS
CONTAINED IN SAID HOUSE BILL 630 SHALL BE THE LAW
AND THAT SECTION 660 OF ARTICLE 66C AS AMENDED IN
THIS HOUSE BILL 1311 OF 1969 SHALL NOT THEN BE EF-
FECTIVE.

Sec. 15. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 155
(House Bill 1148)

AN ACT to add new Sections 226, 227, and 228 to Article 41 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Depart-
ments," to be under the new subtitle, "The Department of State
Planning," said Sections to follow immediately after Section 225
thereof and to repeal IN THEIR ENTIRETY SECTIONS 3, 4,
AND 7 OF ARTICLE 88C AND TO REPEAL and re-enact with
amendments Sections 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 9A, 10 and 11 of Article 88C
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "State Planning," to create in the Executive
Branch of Government a new department to be known as the
Department of State Planning to be headed by a Secretary of State
Planning, and to provide for the duties and responsibilities of said
Secretary as well as the staff personnel of the Department, to
provide for the abolishment of the present State Planning Depart-
ment and Office of the Director of State Planning, and to provide
that all rights, powers, duties, obligations and functions formerly
exercised by the State Planning Department and Director of State
Planning are to be transferred to and exercised and performed by
the Secretary of State Planning, and to extend the present duties
of the State Planning Office and add new duties, all of which will
be exercised by the Department of State Planning; and to provide
that the State Planning Commission shall become an advisory
board for the Department of State Planning, and to change the
number of members on said State Planning Commission as well
as the method of their appointment; and to provide for the duties
and functions of the State Planning Commission, and relating
generally to the laws of Maryland dealing with State Planning
and Development.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 226, 227 and 228 of Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Replacement Volume),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments," are
hereby enacted, to be under the same title but under the new subtitle
"The Department of State Planning," all to read as follows:
