706                                        LAWS OF MARYLAND                             [Ch. 4

The present provisions relating to boats
licensed to dredge in county waters and the
numbers being issued by court clerks are
also proposed for deletion since the county
water licensing provisions were superseded
by section 698(b) , amended by 1971
legislation. For a discussion of the
effects of this legislation see the
revisor's note in section 4-1004, supra.
Subsection (c) presently appears as 66C,
section 701 (a) of the code, and is inserted
here for organizational purposes. A
reference to "handscrape" is added wherever
"scrape" presently appears because this
section is intended to relate to
"handscraper".

Subsection (d) appears as section 701(b) of
the Code.

Subsection (e) appears as section 701(c) of
the Code.

Subsection (f) appears as section 702(1).

Subsection (g) presently appears as Article
66C, section 702(m) of the Code. A clause
is added at the beginning of this section
subjecting its provisions to other laws
relating to firearms to place the Code user
on notice of the existence of other laws
and dispel any thought this section grants
any right contrary to other laws. The
present references to ancient firearms are
proposed for deletion despite their
historical significance as weaponry of the
Oyster Bars. The last sentence is proposed
for deletion because it duplicates other
criminal statutes prohibiting persons from
firing at law enforcement officers.

The only other changes made are in style.

BOAT LICENSE.
