No. 1

(Senate Joint Resolution 1)
A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Wild Waterfowl Stamps

FOR the purpose of requesting the Honorable Rogers C. B.
Morton, Secretary of the United States Department of
the Interior, to adopt the policy and practice that
all purchasers of wild waterfowl stamps in the State
of Maryland will be furnished by the seller of the.
stamps with a booklet or list of all Federal
regulations relating to the hunting, taking and
disposition of wild waterfowl.

WHEREAS,     The Federal Government has seen fit to

regulate the     hunting of ducks, geese and all wild

waterfowl in     order to protect and preserve these birds;
and

WHEREAS, As a part of this system of regulation,
hunters of waterfowl oust buy wild waterfowl stamps or
duck stamps in order to legally hunt and take these
birds; and

WHEREAS, The Maryland hunter, after the purchase of
his wild waterfowl stamps, may still be unaware of the
any Federal regulations governing the hunting, taking
and disposition of waterfowl, and nay inadvertently break
the law; and

WHEREAS, These regulations are promulgated by the
United States Department of the Interior, which is headed
by the Honorable Rogers C. B. Morton; and

WHEREAS, The State of Maryland has adopted the
policy and practice of supplying, free to every purchaser
of a Maryland hunting license, a booklet of all Maryland
laws and regulations relating to hunting, so that the
Maryland hunter is fully informed as to his duties as a
hunter; and

WHEREAS, The Department of the Interior could
logically follow the fine practice of the State of
Maryland by supplying a booklet or list of all Federal
regulations relating to the hunting, taking and
disposition of wild waterfowl to every purchaser of a
wild waterfowl stamp in the State of Maryland; now,
