(House Bill 204)
AN ACT concerning

Certificates of Candidacy — Filing Pees

FOR the purpose of changing the filing fees to be paid by
candidates for nomination to certain offices elected
by the voters of Baltimore City; [[and]] relettering
the section; correcting certain language generally
relating to filing fees for candidacies for
nomination to public office; and providing that the
Act is an emergency measure.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 33 — Election Code

Section 4A-6

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 4A-6 of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code
4A-6.

(a)   Each candidate for nomination to public office
at a primary election shall pay the sum of twenty—five
dollars ($25) for the county or [legislative District of]
Baltimore City in which his name appears upon the ballot,
except as may be otherwise provided in this section. In
any county where the salary of the office for which
nomination is sought is three hundred dollars ($300) or
less, [such] THE payment shall be ten dollars ($10).
All [such] payments shall be made to the person with
whom the certificate is filed and shall accompany the
certificate. At a primary election each candidate as a
delegate to a national convention or as a member of the
State central committee, executive committee of any party
or other party committee, shall pay the sum of ten
dollars ($10.00) upon tiling his certificate with the
board or State Administrative Board of Election Laws.

(b)   Candidates for President of the United States,
Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the United States
Senate, Comptroller, Attorney General or other offices
for which the voters of the entire State may vote, upon
