    Maryland   Recd then from his Ex.cy Francis Nicholson Esq.r Cap.t Gen.ll and Chiefe
       Gov.r of his Matys Province of Maryland &c.a and his matys hono.ble councill of the s.d Province
       a paquett of L.rs and other papers wherein are Inclosed second Bills of Exch.a (The s.d Letter
       being directed for y.e honoured Cap.t Peter Paggen Mercht in London And upon p usuall y.e
       s.d Bills were viz.t one Drawne by Cap.t Jn.o Clarke Comander of the Shipp Jn.o and Margarett
       for 49.  10.s  00.d By Cap.t Sam.ll Pary Comander of the Colchester Adventure for £29  15  06  By Edw.rd
       Burford Comand.r of the Ship James for £62  02  06  By Cap.t Humphrey Pelley Com.r
       of the Shipp Braggett for £26  14  00  By Cap.t Thomas Larting Comand.r of the Ship Josiah
       for £50  17  00  By Robert Mason on M.r Isaack Millner w.th L.rs of Advice for £30  13  02  The

       Hill and Thomas Tasker Gent.n Justices of his Maj.ties Prov.ll Court Jn.o Blackmore and William
       Cotter Together w.th Gabriell Parrott of Ann Arrundell County Gent.n And the said Jn.o Blackmore
       W.m Cotter and Gabriell Parrott their Security and accknowledge themselves each and Every
       of them to stand and be Indebted unto o.r Soveraigne Lord William the third King of England
       Scotland France and Ireland in the sume of five hundred pounds sterl a piece that they
       the said Jn.o Blackmore and William Cotter shall personally appear and be forth comeing
       when Ever his Maj.ties pleasure is Knowne concerning them in the meane time to be of good behav.r
       as to any Acts of pyracy In Default Whereof they are contented the s.d seperate sums of
       money Sterl shall be levyed upon their and Every their Bodys goods Chattles Lands Tenements &

       Know all men by these p.rsents that we Gerrard Sly of S.t Maryes County Gent.n Joshua Guibert &
       Thomas Hatton of the same County Gent.n are held and firmly bound unto our Soveraigne Lord King
       William the Third &c.a Gerrard Sly in the full sume of one thousand pounds sterl money of
       England and Joshua Guibert and Thomas Hatton in the full sume of five hundred pds
       Sterl money of England Each to be p.d to his Maj.ties his heires and successors To the
       paym.t well and Truly to be made Wee bind our selves and Every of us our and every of
       our heires Ex.rs and Adm.rs in the whole and for the whole Joyntly and Severally firmly
       by these presents sealed w.th our seales dated the 13.th day of May 1698

       The Condicon of the Above Obligacon is such that if the above bound Gerrard Sly shall
       in his proper pson appear at the Port of Annapolis in Ann Arrund.ll County before the
       Justices of the Prov.ll Court to be holden the Last Tuesday in August next 1698 then &
       there to Answer to such matters as shall be objected ag.t him on his Maj.ties behalfe &
       stand and abide by the full Determinacon of the s.d Court as the Law Directs and to be of
       good behaviour in the mean time to the Governm.t and all the Leidge people of this Province
       Then the above obligacon to be void otherwise to stand and remain and bee in full force power
