Planning Agency pursuant to the Maryland Civil
Defense Act of 1949; and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to PL93-288 (the Disaster Relief Act of
1974), the General Assembly has enacted Chapter 666,
Acts of 1975, amending the State Civil Defense laws;
and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to the 1974 Federal Act, the
regulations adopted in accordance with it, and the
1975 amendments to the State Civil Defense laws, the
Disaster Assistance Plan approved by me on October
24, 1974, has been amended; and

WHEREAS, The law calls for me, as Governor, to approve
the new plan, as developed by the Maryland Civil
Defense and Disaster Preparedness Agency, in order
for it to take effect; and

WHEREAS, All departments and agencies of the State which
have responsibilities in disaster assistance
operations have reviewed and concurred in the new
plan;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARVIN MANDEL, GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND,
BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY ARTICLE
16A, SECTION 6 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND,
AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 41, SECTION 15CA OF
SAID CODE, HEREBY PROMULGATE THE FOLLOWING ORDER
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

1.    The Executive Order, dated October
24, 1974, is hereby revoked.

2.    The Maryland Disaster Assistance
Plan developed by the Maryland Civil Defense
and Disaster Preparedness Agency, and attached
hereto as part of this Executive Order, is
approved.

3.    The normal budgetary process and
procedures shall be utilized to fund the
State's obligation under the plan,
