           Sr Thomas Laurence his Majties principle Secr:y of the Province
           of Mariland for ye Clks place of ys County; wch is as followeth,
           Vidzt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sr Thomas Laurence Barrontt: His Matys Principle Secratry of
           The Province of Maryland To George Lumley of Kent County Gentn
           Sendeth Greeting Know Yee That ffor The Espeatiall trust & Confidence
           I have And doe repose in Yor Knowledge Care And Circomspection I
           Have Ordained Constituted And Appointed And doe by These prsents
           Ordaine Constitute And Appoint You The Said George Lumley To Be
           Clerk and keeper of The Records of Kent County Willing & requireing
           You to Ask demand And Receive And into Yor Custody take all
           Records Transcripts Precepts, papers And Enrollments whatsoever
   Locus       unto The Sd County Court belonging or in Any wise Appertaineing
      sigilli       And to act do And performe in The Affsaid Office of Clerke of
           The Said County as fully and Amply as any Clerke of A County
           Court May or ought of right to doe, haveing & takeing to Your
           Owne proper use And behoofe all & Singuler the perquesites and
           proffitts to The Said Office belonging, rendering Therefore a full
           Account of The proffitts Thereof When demanded And paying unto
           The Said Sr Thomas Lawrence Barront. One Tenth part of The
           full proffitts Thereof pr Anno: So long as you shall Continue in the
           Said Office To Have hold Exercize And Enjoy the Same and the
           perquisites thereof as Afforesaid; dureing pleasure, Given At the
           Porte of Annapolis under The Seale of My Office This
           Twenty ffifth day of November, in ye Therteenth Year of
           The Reigne of King William The Third of England &ca. ~~~
