NOTE
Two hundred twelve bills were vetoed by the Governor following the 2005
Regular Session of the General Assembly. Ninety-eight of these bills originated in the
Senate and one hundred fourteen of them originated in the House of Delegates.
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 17 of Article II of the Maryland Constitution,
these bills will be returned to the General Assembly immediately after the
Legislature has organized at the next Regular or Special Session to be reconsidered in
order to determine whether the veto is sustained or overridden.
The vetoes of three bills, Senate Bill 401, Senate Bill 444, and House Bill 514,
were overridden during the 2005 Regular Session.
