       twenty years old five feet seven and an half inches
       high having a large scar on the hand of his left
       arm where he appears to have been burnt is a freeman
       being the son of a certain Cate Gray of the county
       aforesaid a free woman of color

                   Given under my hand and seal of office
                   this twenty seventh day of April in the
                   year one thousand eight Hundred & seven

       The state of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit

                I hereby certify that the Bearer hereof a woman
       by the name of Ann of a very dark complexion
       having flat nose and thick lips about thirty four
       years of age five feet four Inches and seven eighths
       of an Inch high who was raised in Prince Georges
       County is free and became so on or about the Eleventh
       day of April in the year seventeen Hundred & Ninety
       one in virtue of a Deed of Manumission from
       Artridge Waters of the county aforesaid dated the
       Eleventh day of April in the year Seventeen Hundred
       and seventy eight and duly executed acknowledged
       and recorded in the land records of the
       county aforesaid

                Given under my hand and the seal of
                my office this thirtieth day of May
                one thousand eight Hundred and seven
