       his freedom from John Ashton in Prince Georges
       County at April Term seventeen Hundred and
       ninety six

                Given under my hand and seal of office
                this tenth day of August in the year
                Eighteen Hundred and seven

       The State of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit

                I hereby certify that the bearer hereof Basil
       Queen a dark mulatto man being about the age
       of twenty one years five feet three inches high
       the third finger on his let hand crooked in the first
       joint and appears to have been burnt who was
       raised in Prince Georges County is a Freeman
       and recovered his freedom from John Ashton
       in Prince Georges County Court at April
       Term seventeen Hundred and Ninety Six
