   of Chester in Said County to Answer unto William Frisby late Sherf. of Kent County af[sd]
   of a plea of Trespass of the Case   And that he have then and there the Said writ &ca.
           Att which Said next Court vizt. the Eighteenth day of March the Same Year last
   mentioned the day of return of Said writ came Simon Wilmer Gent~. high Sherf of
   Said County an dmade return thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as folls viz C[epi]
   Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sherf.   And a Decln being fild when Said writ Issued for[th]
   and a Copy thereof Served therewith According to Act of Assembly in Such Cases m[ade]
   was as folls vizt. Kent County Ss James Willcocks of Kent County Planter Stands Attached [to]
   Answer unto William Frisby late Sheriff of Kent County. afd of a plea of Trespass of the~
   Case And Whereupon the afd Plt~. by Thomas Bowne his attry. Complains that whereas
   the afd Deft~ the third day of Janry in the Year of our Lord Christ~. One Thousand Seven
   hundred and fourteen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court~
   was Indebted unto the afd Plt~. in the Sume of Ninety Eighty pounds of Merchantable
   Tobacco for one Levy of One Taxable then and there due from the Said Deft~ to the Said Plt the
   Same Plt~. then and there being Sherif of Kent County afd and So thereof being indebted the
   afd Deft In Consideration thereof afterwards vizt. the afd third day of Janry in the Year
   afd at the parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd upon himselfe assumed and to the Said Plt~ th[en]
   and there last mentioned faithfully Promised that he the Said Deft~ the afd Sume of Ni[nety]
   Eight pounds of Merchantable Tobacco unto the Said Plt~. when thereunto required would
   well and truely pay and Content~ And that Whereas also the afd Deft~ afterwards vizt [the]
   third day of Janry. in the Year of our Lord Christ~ one Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen
   at the parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd was Indebted Unto the afd Plt~ in the Sume of one
   hundred and fifty pounds of Merchantable Tobacco for one Levey of One Taxable then & [there]
   last mentioned due from the Said Deft~. to the afd Plt~. the Same Plt~. then and [now]
   last menitoned being Sheriff of Kent County afd and So thereof being Indebted the afd Def[t]
   In Consideration thereof afterwards vizt. the afd third day of Janry. in the Year of our [Lord]
   Christ~ one Thousand Seven hundred and fourteen at the parish County & Jurisdicion
   afd upon himselfe assumed. and to the Said Plt~. then and there last mentioned
   faithfully promised that he the Said Deft~ the afd Sume of one hundred and [fifty]
   pounds of Tobacco unto the Said Plt~. when thereunto required would well and [truly]
   pay and Content~ And that Whereas also the afd Deft~ afterwards vizt. the [third]
   day of Janry. in the Year of our Lord Christ~ One Thousand Seven hundred and
   Sixteen at~ the Parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd was Indebted unto the [afd]
   plt~. in the Sume of Two hundred and fourteen pounds of Merchantable
   Tobacco for one Levey of one Taxable then and there last mentioned due [from]
   the Said Deft~ to the afd Plt~. the Same Plt~. then and there last mentioned
   being high Sherff. of Kent County afd and So thereof being Indebted the afd [Deft]
   In Consideration thereof afterwards vizt. the afd third day of Janry. in the year [of]
   our Lord Christ~ one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen at the Parish County [&]
   Jurisdiciõn afd upon himselfe assumed and to the Said Plt~. then and there [last]
   mentioned faithfully promised that he the Said Deft~. the afd Sume of Two [—]
   hundred and fourteen pounds of Tobacco unto the Said Plt~. when there[unto]
   required would well and truely pay and Content~ Nevertheless the [afd Deft]
