vizt That on the 27th of April last, it being a field day for half
the Battalion I command, Captn Richd Bennett Hall refused
attending his company in the field.
That on the 11th instant Lieuts Jonathan Wright & Jeremiah
Riley of Captn Abraham Boyds company while under arms in
the field behaved in a very mutinous manner, & seemed much
inclined to encourage the same Disposition among the men of
the company they belongd to. If your Honrs think it expe-
dient to issue a commission for holding a Court Marshall to
inquire into the conduct of those Gentlemen. For the sup-
port of the charge agt Capn Hall summons Mrs Baruck Ducket
& Wm Thomas adjutant to the Battalion. For the support of
the charge agt the other two summons should issue for Majr
Thomas Williams Captns Abraham Boyd & Basil Warring &
Wm Thomas the Adjutant :

Friday 24th May 1776.
Council met. Present as yesterday.

Ordered That Western Shore Treasurer pay Colo Thos
Contee for use of John Stonestreet three Pounds, thirteen

Shillings & two Pence on Acct of No Carolina Prisoners.

Ordered That Treasurer of Western Shore pay to Wm
Neele for Use of Hugh Young fourteen hundred and eighty
five Pounds, eight shillings and eleven Pence for Amt of Cargo
of Brig Beith.
Ordd that said Treasurer pay to Messrs Lux & Bowly eight
hundred and thirty two Pounds, fifteen Shillings and three
Pence, the Balance of their Genl Acct of Ship Defence.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Capt. James Tibbett
thirty nine Pounds, six Shillings and five Pence for Wages
and other Disbursements when on Board the Wicked Dick.
Copy of Letter No 159 was sent to Committee of Safety of
No Carolina.
Ordered That Western Shore Treasurer pay to Mr Thos
Ringgold five hundred Pounds to enable him to prosecute a
Salt Works on his Bond.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Wm Tillard seven
Pounds, ten Shillings and six Pence for Amt of Mrs Furguson's
Acct and his own for providing Subsistence of South River
Battalion.
Commissions issued to Denwood Hicks appd Captn Moses
LeCompte 1 Lt Henry Keene 2 Lt & John Budd Ensign of a
Compy of Militia in Dorchester County
Also to Joseph Robson appd Captain, Moses LeCompte 1 Lt
