Commissions issued to Thomas Wynn Lockerman appd
2 Lt and Alexander Waddell Ensign of Captn Joseph Rich-
ardson's Company of Militia in Caroline County, belg to 14th
Battalion.
Also to Planmer Williams appointed Captain Benjamin
Schoolfield 1 Lt Ebenezer Finley 2 Lt and Thomas Williams
Ensign of a Company of Militia in Somerset County belonging
to 17th Battalion.
Also to Nathaniel Potter, heretofore appd by Convention,
Captain of a Company of Militia in Caroline County belonging
to 14th Battalion, also to Thomas Bourk appd Captain of the
Cambridge Blues, heretofore commissioned by the Convention,
but having mislaid or lost their Commissions, It is ordered
that they rank as if they held their Commissions under the
Appointment of the Convention in January last.

[Council to N. Carolina Committee.]
To Committee of Safety of No Carolina.

Gentn We are informed by Mr Hugh Young that 500wt of
Powder belonging to this Province arrived at Newbern in No
Carolina from St Eustatia shipp'd by Captn Abraham Van-
bebber on Board of Captn Luce. You will probably want the
Powder, therefore we have given him no Order for it's Removal,
but will exchange, if you think proper for the same Quantity
to be delivered us by your Delegates at Philadelphia
May 25th 1776

Baltimore 24th May 1776
Sirs. Two days before I went to Annapolis, I had the
Schooner Ninety two valued at £500 by four men chosen by
the owners, (Cravath & Dugan) & which agreement they
seemed well satisfied with, having at the same time agreed to
find her two sails, which I promised to add to that sum with
any other repairs might be thought necessary after this valua-
tion, however on my return they chose four other men to
value said Schooner, which they did at £750 tho' I believe
they have not given her £50 repairs since the first Valuation,
.such proceedings I think unjust & do not think it right to put
up with I shall be glad to have your orders what to do in this
case, as they have stopt the vessell till I agree to allow the
