166 Assembly Proceedings, March 20, 1734/5 - April 24, 1735.

U. H. J.
Lib. No. 33

directs our Consultations. We are therefore determined according
to your Excellency's obliging Exhortation diligently to apply our-
selves to the Consideration of all such Things as shall occur to us
that may be Serviceable for the Support of his Lordship's Govern-
ment and the common welfare of our Countrey, and if any Expedient
can be found for advancing our Staple of Tobacco we shall be ready
to Join in Endeavouring to obtain that Benefitt.
We are so Sensible of the necessity of good temper and moderation
in all our Proceedings in a Legislative Capacity and of a good
Agreement Subsisting between the Several branches of the Legis-
lature in order to render their Constitutions usefull that we shall
always use our utmost endeavours for obtaining those advantages,
and carefully avoid any thing that may have a Tendency to deprive
us of them, and as your Excellency has been pleased to assure us of
your Intentions to encourage and promote these necessary disposi-
tions, We hope so good an Example will produce the same Effect
in the whole Legislature and crown their united Endeavours with
Suitable Success to the Honour of your Excellency's Government
hitherto happily continued over us, and to the Satisfaction and Ad-
vantage of the good People of this Province in general
Signed by all the Members present.
