Mr Richard Dorsey appointed Clerk of the Committee of Accounts
and of the Committee of Aggrievances and Courts of Justice.
Ordered that it be an Instruction to the Committee of Aggrievances
and Courts of Justice, for the future to Inspect the Original Papers
lodged in the Chancery office. Commissaryes office, Provincial

Saturday Morning March 22d 1734


The House Met According to Adjournment. The Members
called over and all present as Yesterday Except Mr Woolford. The
Proceedings of Yesterday were read Over.
The Petition of Several Freeholders of St. Marys County Com-
plaining of an Undue Election, read and Ordered, that an hearing
on the said Petition be on Wednesday Sev'n night next; and that
John Starfield, and Thomas Tolley. then attend with a Certificate
of the Oaths by them taken upon their Admission into the office of
Under Sherriff.
Michael Howard Esqr from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker
a Petition of the Middlepart of Prince George Parish in Prince
George County, praying Leave to Bring in a Bill, to Build a Chap-
pel of Ease; Indorsed, Recommended, That the sum therein to be
raised for the building be in the Paper Currency of this Province and
the Petition of the Minister, Vestry and Church Wardens of North
Sasafras, (commonly called St. Stephens) Parish in Cecil County
praying an Additional Act of Assembly to the Act formerly made
for Building a New Church, and Chaple of Ease Indorsed Recom-
mended that the Sum therein to be raised be in the Paper Currancy
of this Province.
The Question was put whether an Election of Representatives
Taken before an under Sherriff in the absence of the High Sherriff
be Illegal or not. Resolved in the Negative.
