An Act to Impower and Direct the Clerk of Charles County to enter
and record among the said County Records a Deed of Bargain
and Sale from James Connell and Anne his Wife to John Dunbar
of a parcel of Land therein mentioned
Whereas Elizabeth Hanson of Charles County Widow by her
humble Petition to this Present General Assembly has set forth that
a certain James Connell and Anne his Wife of Saint Marys County
by Deed bearing Date the twenty Sixth Day of May Anno Domini
Seventeen hundred and forty for the Consideration of Six thousand
Pounds of Tobacco and five Pounds Current money did Sell and
make over unto a certain John Dunbar of the same County his heirs
and assigns for ever a Tract or Parcel of Land lying in Charles
County Containing one hundred Acres as by said Deed Relation
being thereunto had may appear that the said John Dunbar Delivered
the Deed afd to the petitioners husband some Small time before his
Death to be recorded which said Deed was by some means mislaid
and not found untill the time limited by Act of Assembly for Enrol-
ing Conveyances was Expired as appears by the Deposition of John
Hanson the youngest to the afd Deed annexed that the afd Anne
Connel by whose right the afd Land was held dyed before the finding
the Deed afd by which means the afd John Dunbar Intirely Lost the
Effect of the purchase afd and that the petitioner did pay to the said
John Dunbar the money and Tobacco above mentioned in Considera-
tion of which the said Petitioner prayed Relief and it appearing as
well by the Affidavit of the afd John Hanson that the matter as afd
set forth is true as by a Certificate from the Justices of Charles
County that the said Elizabeth Hanson gave Publick Notice of her
Intentions to apply to the Assembly for relief In the premisses and
that the petitioner had Bona fide paid the Consideration money for
the said Land as above mentioned Be it Enacted by the right Hon-
ourable the Lord Proprietarie by and with the advice and consent of
his Lordships Governour and the upper and Lower Houses of Assem-
bly and the Authority of the same that the Clerk for the time being
of Charles County afd shall and may and is hereby authorized and
required to receive the Deed afd from the afd James Connel and
Anne his wife to John Dunbar and the same to enter on record
amongst the records of the same County together with the acknowl-
edgement and affidavit afd and that the same Deed being so recorded
and entered within six months from the end of this present Session
of Assembly shall and is hereby Declared and Enacted to be good
and Valid and in full force power and Virtue in Law and that the
Estate of the same John Dunbar of and in the same one hundred
