[Council to Capt. Daniel Bryan]

We are of Opinion that there is no Occasion for a Lieutenant
for the Boat Plater at present. Whenever you are sent upon a
Service to require it, you will be allowed to engage a Lieutenant;
you will therefore be pleased to discharge the Person who now acts
in that Character.

Thursday 13th June 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Abraham Fal-
coner two hundred and fifty seven Pounds, ten shillings and two
Pence and forty eight Pounds, three shillings and six Pence — & John
Blair eight Pounds eighteen shillings and ten Pence Specie agreeable
to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State per Accounts
and Certificates passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Allen Quynn Esqr twenty two
Pounds, fifteen shillings and six Pence specie due him per Account
passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Calhoun Esquire twenty
eight Pounds, two shillings and nine Pence Specie due him for Money
lent the State 10th May 1780 per Certificate adjusted and passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to William McLaughlin eighteen
Pounds, fifteen shillings Specie for the use of George Welsh due
him for Money lent the State 10th May 1780 per Certificate adjusted
& Passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Stevenson Esquire seven
pounds, seventeen shillings and ten Pence Specie due him for Money
lent on the 9th September 1780 per Certificate adjusted and Passed.
That the Eastern shore Treasurer pay to William Douglass twenty
seven Pounds, seventeen shillings and eight Pence specie in lieu of
an Order on the Western shore Treasurer of the 1st Instant for
money lent the State.
That the said Treasurer pay to Walter Hanson Jenifer seven
Pounds, sixteen shillings and six Pence. David Boyd Ten Pounds,
and John Baxter nine Pounds, fifteen shillings of the Bills emitted
under the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca due them p
Accounts passed.
Commissions issued to Solomon Long appointed Lieut Colo
Philip Quinton Major — James Townsend Captain in the room of
Philip Quinton — John Scott first Lieut, of the Wicomoco Battalion
of Militia Worcester County, also to John Postley appointed Colol
Thomas Purnell Lieut Colonel — William Purnell Major — Littleton
Robins Captain in the room of William Purnell — Joseph Ennis first
Lieut. & Beletha Brittingham second Lieutenant belonging to the
Sinepuxent Battalion of Militia in Worcester County and also to
William Houston appointed Cornet of Captain John Pages Troop
