We made no particular Agreement with Colo Smith about Com-
mission. Upon a Settlement made some Time ago, he was allowed
five p Cent on his Purchases, and as to the Commission on the
Sales, he ought to be allowed what is common among Merchants.

Ordered that the Commissary of Provisions deliver to John H.
Stone Esquire five hundred Bushels of Wheat at Baltimore Town
or the Head of Elk on Account of his Salary. —
That the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Samuel Smith fifty
Pounds, and one penny specie for Osnabrigs purchased by Willm
Clagett of Prince Georges County, eight pounds, four shillings and
four pence specie for Provision seized by John S. Brookes & also
one hundred and fifty seven pounds, eight shillings specie due him
per Accts adjusted & passed. —

[Council to President of Congress]

In Consequence of the Resolution of Congress of the 20th July
1780 respecting the Conduct of Colo Henry Hollingsworth, we laid
the Deposition of Robert Anderson before the Honble Alexander
Contee Hanson Esqr one of the Judges of the General Court, whose
Opinion, formed upon hearing Colo Hollingsworth and fully investi-
gating the Charge, we have the Honor to transmit Congress.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to James Neale
seven pounds, six shillings and nine pence specie agreeable to the
Act to adjust the Debts due from this State per Account passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to John Wasteneys for the use of
Stephen Steward thirty one Pounds specie on Account.
That the Commissary of Provisions deliver to James Brice six
hundred and sixty six Bushels and two thirds of a Bushel of Wheat
and Alexander Contee Hanson Esquire two hundred and four and
an half Bushels of Wheat at Baltimore Town or the Head of Elk
on Account of their Salaries. —
