M.r Ridgley delivered to M.r speaker, the petition of Charles
Ridgley junr Benjamin Rogers, Jonathan Plowman, William Ais-
quith, and Christopher Carnan, of Baltimore County complaining
of an undue election of M.r Thomas Cockey Deye one of the mem-
bers for said County. Which was read and ordered to lie on the
table.

The address to his excellency read a second time, approved of,
and ordered to be ingross'd
M.r Johnson brings in and delivers to M.r speaker the ingross'd
address to his excellency, which is read, assented to, and signed
by order of the house by the honorable speaker.

Ordered that M.r Hall and M.r Hayward do wait on his ex-
cellency and acquaint him, that this house hath prepared an address
to be presented to him, and desires to know when and where he will
be pleased to receive it. They return and acquaint M.r speaker
they delivered the message, and that his excellency was pleased to
signify he would receive it immediately in the conference chamber.
Ordered that M.r Goldsborough and M.r Gantt do wait on his
excellency and present the address.
On motion, leave given to bring in a bill entitled an act for
amending and declaring the law in the cases therein mentioned.
Ordered that M.r Hollyday, M.r Johnson and M.r Hall do prepare
and bring in the same.

The house resumed the consideration of the petition of John
Hammond Dorsey, and after examining several witnesses at the
bar of the house, referred the same for a further hearing afternoon.
The house adjourns 'til 2 o'clock
Post meridiem. The house met &c.a M.r Steele has leave of ab-
sence 'til Tuesday next. M.r Grahame and M.r Tyler have leave of
absence.
The house proceeded to a further hearing on the petition of John
Hammond Dorsey, and it was proposed that the question should
be put, whether the three members returned for Baltimore County,
and petitioned against by M.r John Hammond Dorsey, be duly
elected or not? The previous question was put, whether that question
be now put? Resolved in the Negative.
