28 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 17,
Resolved, That these proceedings Le entered upon the
Journal, and a copy thereof, attested by the President and
Secretary of the Senate, be transmitted to the family of the
deceased.
Resolved, As a further expression of our respect for the
memory of the deceased, that the Senate do now adjourn.
Which was read and seconded by Messrs. McMaster,
Turner and Ohr in appropriate remarks.
The Senate adjourned.
WEDNESDAY, January 17, 1866.
Mr. Clarke, the Senator for Prince George's county, ap-
peared and took his seat.
Mr. Eaton presented the memorial of the Baltimore
Smelting Company.
Which Iras read, and referred to committee on Corpora-
tions.
Mr. Davis, of Caroline county, presented a petition for an
act to prohibit the sale of intoxicating liquors ;
Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Davis of Caroline,
Frazier and McNeal.
Mr. Vickers presented the petition of citizens of Kent
.county, relating to the Alms House of said county;
Which was read, and referred to the committee on Judicial
Proceedings.
Mr. Trail presented the petition of citizens of Frederick,
Montgomery, and Washington counties, relating to Railroad
matters.
Which was read, and referred to the committee on Internal
Improvements.
